DeWalt cordless impact drivers and wrenches are undoubtedly the handiest and most versatile power tools for driving a wide variety of fasteners during almost any construction project.
Although they look like a smaller replica, don't confuse a cordless impact driver with a standard cordless drill or hammerdrill. The biggest difference is inside.
When they first came on the market battery-powered impact wrenches seemed a novelty - the kind of tool suburban wives buy their husbands.
Although pneumatic impact wrenches deliver more maximum torque and often cost less than their battery-powered cousins, the latter don't need large air compressors and hose lines to operate.
It is part of the DeWalt line of heavy-duty cordless impact drivers and wrenches. The cordless impact driver delivers more torque, faster speed and greater control in a package smaller than cordless drills.
Another benefit is size. Cordless impact tools are compact - the models from DeWALT are about 35% the size of a comparable drill/driver.
The DW059K-2 delivers 300 ft-lbs of max torque, the most torque of any 18V 1/2 inch cordless impact wrench. Combining high torque with 1650 RPM and 2600 BPM, provides the power and speed to drive larger lag screws into pressure treated materials and hard woods.
Durable magnesium gear case and all metal transmission for extended durability. Heavy-duty impacting mechanism directs torque to fastener without kickback.
The basic difference between cordless impact drivers and cordless impact wrenches is the chuck configuration. Impact drivers have a chuck which accepts 1/4 inch hex-shank bits for screwdriving, drilling, and nut driving.
