The Ryobi One Plus Grass shears are part of the Ryobi One Plus Multi Garden Tool System and are perfect for tidying up your lawn edges and other trimming tasks. Lightweight and comfortable to use, the rapid 1-hour charge cycle means they can always be ready for use.
The blade design is where the Black and Decker GS 500 really fails to shine. Instead of having two sharp blades, or even one sharp blade, it has two dull, square-edged blades. In reality, the grass is hacked and shredded, producing damage like that caused by a dull lawn mower blade.
A cleanly cut grass blade heals more quickly, causes less stress, and leads to less water loss than a frayed blade.
The Black and Decker GS 500 Grass Shears do not come charged, nor are they part of Black and Decker’s VersaPak system (interchangeable rechargeable power cells), so you cannot begin using these shears right away.
Available as a separate accessory purchase is the ‘Upright Handle and Wheels’, which allow you to use the grass shears while you’re standing up.
After the figures have filled in they are kept in shape with shears, hand clippers, or electric grass shears. It is important to be familiar with the plant material you are working with in order to know which method is best.
